Applicants may choose to either complete the application online or print and mail the application along with supporting documents. Options are provided below.
Each applicant must include a cover letter as part of their application packet. The cover letter should:
Complete all required information in the printed and online forms.
Each applicant must submit a transcript with their application packet to determine initial academic eligibility for the scholarship. Unofficial transcripts are accepted to complete the application; however, if you are selected as a finalist and are scheduled for an interview, you must be prepared to provide your official transcripts. A sealed official transcript of your college record may be brought to your interview – or mailed to the Contractors Association of West Virginia, 2114 Kanawha Boulevard, East, Charleston, West Virginia 25311.
Each applicant must provide a confidential letter of recommendation from a faculty member endorsing their application for the CAWV Scholarship. The online application includes a feature allowing students to send a private URL to their chosen faculty member. The faculty member can then upload the recommendation letter directly, ensuring it is securely attached to the application.
Applicants must be West Virginia residents and currently enrolled as sophomores, juniors, or seniors in a civil engineering or construction-related four-year degree program at a West Virginia college or university. Students attending out-of-state schools offering construction-related curricula not available in West Virginia may also apply.
All applicants will be reviewed, and finalists will be interviewed by CAWV representatives.
